Dear Chester
It’s been a week when you took matters into your own hands. Still in denial of what had happened. You were so brave in giving into that voice that might have been bugging you for so long. Definitely not the best solution to the battle you’ve been going through. You were asking why is everything is so Heavy? You were holding on, so much more than you can carry. And you decided to just let go and be set free because you don’t know what’s worth fighting for and you will never be alright. The path you took seems the best option, so you’ll never have to fight that battle again and that’s how it will end.
And there you go. You said goodbye, hit the road less traveled with no intentions of going back.
Good Goodbye
“So say goodbye and hit the road. Pack it up and disappear. You better have some place to go. ‘Cause you can’t come back around here. Good goodbye.”
When the news broke out about Chester Bennington’s passing. Everyone was in shock, stunned, and in disbelief. The internet exploded with outpouring love for Chester. People who listened to Linkin Park’s songs were in deeply saddened, shattered and heartbroken. It was a like a nightmare that you wanted to wake up to. How can someone cope up with such tragic loss?
Maybe Chester is saying Sorry for what had happened and that there will be a day that we will all understand what he had done.
Sorry For Now
“And I’ll be sorry for now that I couldn’t be around. Sometimes things refuse to go the way we planned.
Oh I’ll be sorry for now that I couldn’t be around. There will be a day, that you will understand.”
Chester’s passing (apparent suicide) is a wake up call to all who are fighting their own battles. He shared a powerful message about his mental struggles. He was raw and honest about it. Their music helped a lot of people to overcome their own.
Chester sings like an angel with a raspy scream that sends shiver down one’s spine.
“I scream at myself when there’s nobody else to fight. I don’t lose, I don’t win, if I’m wrong, then I’m halfway right. I know what I want, but it feels like I’m paralyzed. I don’t lose, I don’t win, if I’m wrong, then I’m halfway right.”
Halfway Right
Linkin Park’s new album is like a premonition that Chester will be gone too soon. Each song conveys some sort of cryptic messages in a melancholic melody. Simply visceral.
Heavy..Talking to Myself..Halfway Right..Battle Symphony.. Sharp Edges..Nobody Can Save Me..Good Goodbye..Sorry for Now..Invisible..One More Light..
One More Light
Thank you Chester. Rest in Peace.
If they say.. Who cares if one more light goes out? In the sky of a million stars. It flickers, flickers..Who cares when someone’s time runs out? If a moment is all we are.. Or quicker, quicker..Who cares if one more light goes out? Well I do..
